about

When I was writing and recording this album I couldn’t foresee that just a few months later the world would be held in the grip of an insidious enemy that is wreaking havoc on both our health and our economies. We need the light, don’t you think?

What is Light II about? It is a musical journey of discovery across the globe. It begins with a personal love proposal in Love me too.
Next, the chants of teenagers across the globe concerned about climate change took me back in memory to the edge of the rapidly encroaching Sahara Desert where I spent my University years. I hope it will take on a personal and an urgent meaning for you in Siren Call. As the journey continues, Serenade of Hope reminds us that hope is a universal commodity that no one can do without. And while in a dream, a hike in the Amazon forest is nearly fatal (The Storm) we also experience the wonder watching the night sky during a camping trip to the Yukon (Nothing New).

The plaintive voice of a Swedish maiden at the end of Song to Grace is meant to remind us how beautiful life can be. Dancing in the Light calls us to realize that in spite of the gloom, celebration is possible. Finally, we find ourselves in West Africa dancing to an ancient rhythm (Wodiyamando). Light II is eclectic - a weaving from different musical traditions.
